What is – AST?

ATS- is a transparent anti slip solution, which has a very low odour that can be applied to a variety of surfaces radically improving the slip resistance when wet.

The Health & Safety Executive states "Floors need to have enough grip for pedestrians to walk safely, but what does this mean? Grip is measured as ‘Coefficient of Friction’. For safe pedestrian walking on the level this should be 0.36 or higher." It also says "it’s no good testing a clean and dry floor then expecting it to be slip resistant in the wet."

The workplace regulations 1992 requires floor surfaces to not expose any person to a safety risk.

Our Anti-Slip treatment reduces the risk and dangers of slips and falls and the resultant potential of personal injury. Health and Safety Executive figures for 2001/02 show that 10,118 non-fatal slip/trip/fall accidents occurred.

The solution for safer floors

P.G.E-AST -Anti Slip Treatment is designed to increase the coefficient of friction on a variety of flooring materials, for example tiles or Terrazzo, bath tubs and shower trays by creating micro pores in the surface which create a vacuum effect when walked on in a wet condition and thereby considerably improving the traction and seriously reducing the risk of slipping.

P.G.E-AST -Anti Slip Treatment will create micro pores in natural materials and manufactured products that are a fusion of materials bound with cement or clay including concrete, quarry tiles, ceramic, marble, terrazzo, granite, slate, stone, porcelain and enamel finished bath tubs and shower trays.

There is no significant change in the appearance of many types of surfaces treated with SLIP SAFE and it is not a coating that can wear down or peel off. It is a treatment process that reacts with the material itself to produce an invisible and lasting effect.

AN P.G.E-AST- treated surface is a safer surface to walk on when wet

Wet floor surfaces are a serious risk to health and safety, injuries caused through slips and falls are very common when such conditions exist.

P.G.E-AST - Anti Slip Treatment is both easy and safe to apply and typically 60 to 100m² per hour can be achieved by an individual worker, bath tubs and shower trays usually take no more than 10 minutes.

P.G.E-AST - Anti Slip Treatment is applied by our agents following the removal of sealers and grease to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment. The surface to receive the treatment must be thoroughly clean and dry.

We believe P.G.E-AST - Anti Slip Treatment is one of the most user and environmentally friendly products of its type on the market.

Once treated with P.G.E-AST - Anti Slip Treatment areas such as bath tubs and shower trays and lightly trafficked areas will have an effective slip resistance for at least 3 years while areas subjected to heavy or regular high usage should have an effective life of 2 years.

Maintain the anti-slip performance by regularly cleaning with good cleaning products.

We recommend SAFEKLEEN Multipurpose Cleaner, which has been specially formulated to keep a P.G.E-AST treated surface at its optimum level of performance.

Do not apply wax based polishes or emulsions to surfaces treated with the P.G.E-AST anti-slip solution as this will have the effect of filling the micro pores created by the treatment. The appearance of a P.G.E-AST treated surface can be enhanced by dry buffing to bring up a shine.

Safe Kleen was specially formulated by our boffin's for keeping a STOP-SLIP treated floor or bath free from the buildup of grease and dirt deposits to maintain the treated surface at its optimum level of performance.

Application Information

Dilute in a typical bucket containing 8 to 10 litres of water as follows:-

Light duty: 2 capfuls

Medium duty: 3 capfuls

Heavy duty: 4 capfuls

Dilutions can be adjusted to suit individual cleaning requirements.

Apply liberally over surface and allow a few minutes of contact time.

Rinse thoroughly and dry.

Safe Kleen can be used neat on oil and grease patches allow to soak for 10 minutes then rinse.

Very stubborn stains may require more than one treatment.

CAUTION: Do not use in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces, as premature drying will prevent the active ingredients from performing their functions correctly.
